Membership Renewal Date and Fees for Richmond Badminton Club

Dear Members,

For the 2009/2010 season, members are required to put down a deposit of $30 by May 31, 2009 in order to renew their membership.  Members may apply for changes by contacting Les.  He can be reached at (604) 515-7628 or email l_choo@paralynx.com. Mailing address is: Les Choo, 920 Surrey Street, New Westminster, BC V3L4W2.

The rates are: $145 for one evening, $245 for two evenings & $345 for three evenings.

The season is from October to May. We will contact you after mid-September to inform you of the start date once we have received the confirmation from Leisure Services. You may also check the web-site.

As agreed between the Club and the City, in order to maintain the current arrangement, the Junior program will need to be developed and expanded. The 2009/2010 season will allow two junior players per evening to register as members. We will still maintain two spots open to the Monday Junior Program for the students to participate in the Club activities as visitors. We need volunteer coaches to assist in running the Junior Program on Monday evenings. Please volunteer your time as much as you can afford to. It is a rewarding experience. The Club will provide funds to assist you to attend the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). Your contribution will be recognized and appreciated. Please feel free to contact Rick Lee or one of the executives.

We would like to remind all members to be aware of and abide by the Club rules. They are included in this correspondence.

Please direct your suggestions and questions to the executives if you have any.

Thanks,

Brian Lee

2. Play Board - If you are not sure about how to use the play board, please ask one of the other members. When signing up for play, please take the first available position on the play board which will complete a foursome. Intentional delay until a more favourable foursome comes up, will constitute game fixing. The only time when a foursome can be broken up is if one has had several games with the same grouping.

3. Birds - The feather birds are expensive, so only one new bird per game. If during the course of a game the bird needs to be replaced, then one may be taken from the tube marked "Seconds". Please use old birds for warm-up and return all used birds to the table for re-use.

4. Clothing - It has been traditional at the club to wear whites or similar badminton or tennis outfits. No cut-offs, jeans, muscle shirts, etc. please!

5. Cleanup - It is the responsibility of all members to ensure that the equipment is put away. Last players out are responsible for putting away the net, poles and birds.
